Oil works well in an engines, not so good in humans. If you go to a regular MD with a health problem and all he can do (or wants to do) is prescribe a "medicine", beware. Ask the doc whether the drug is meant to cure your ailment, or just treat the symptoms. Odds are the drug only attacks the symptoms, not the cause. If you are in much discomfort or pain, suppressing that may suffice, temporarily. In either case, ask your doc what the side effects are. Most drugs have many. Sometimes the side effects of one drug necessitate another drug just to deal with the side effects. Have you watched drugs ads on tv? Some of the side effects (especially death) are worse than the ailment you have. The problem with "Rockefeller" doctors is that they take the easy way out-- they treat the symptoms with drugs, rather than treating the cause or finding out what the cause is. These doctors are well known for ordering tests to cover their hides. The radiological tests (x-rays, scans- mri, cat scan, pet scan) generally contribute to your declining health. After billions, no, trillions of dollars spent on research over many years, we are no closer to finding cures for a lot of dis-ease. Why? Follow the money and the profits. "First do no harm" is now just a joke.

Seriously, what you said is why the medical profession needs to be opened up to competition from DCs, DOs, NDs, NPs, and PAs.
It seems that the businesses (and health is, without a doubt, a business) where we need competition are the ones where we never see it.
