If the USA were foolish enough to add Canada as its 51st state, Quebec would immediately become our Gaza. A better way to expand the number of states would be to allow eastern Washington state and Oregon to secede from their Marxist leadership and form a state of Normies.

Your proposal would be more palatable to the left if those counties joined Idaho, as some indeed want to do.

I read a couple of days ago that some counties in southern Illinois have voted to secede from Cook County, which dominates Illinois, to join with neighboring Indiana.

Screw the Left!

I would rather have two more "normal" right-center states. The time to push this is NOW while the Left is in total disarray!

According to the US Constitution, any change to the list of states, whether admission of new states or changing boundaries of existing states, must be approved by Congress. Democrats have a filibuster in the Senate. They can stop the admission of new states in the same way that Republicans can stop the admission of DC and Puerto Rico.

"Summa prioris" is keeping the Left on the run while we effectively return government to functioning. As they are "flailing about" right now I would continue to raise the pressure level. There are a number of Congressmen and Senators that are in weakened positions that might view President Trump as rescue rather than having nothing...

Would it be enough to pass such legislation, certainly now is the best opportunity. The question then becomes is this where we want to spend our "advantage" capital.

There is a problem with allegiance. Canadians still treasure the British monarchy. Canadians, for the most part, do not like firearms, another friction point. Canuks are rather odd folk and very liberal. I vote no on the deal. Besides, we would have no use for all those moose.

Canadians are very different people to Americans

Agreed. That's why I think the 0-state solution is still the best.

I get the feeling you are trying to preserve balance; is that what we want or to build a politically defendable position to dominate the Left. Until they reform the Democrat (Leftist) party there can be no negotiation with them!
